Welcome! I’m Jennifer—author, tea drinker, joyful apron-wearer, and lover of small-town stories.

I believe in the power of home, the magic of community, and the quiet bravery of women who show up with open hearts (and a good casserole).

Welcome to McIntosh, a fictional town stitched together from my real-life roots in small-town Virginia, inspired by the rhythms of everyday life, a deep love of stories, and the kind of kindness you still find at a church potluck or a front porch swing.

The Story Behind the Story

I first dreamed up Welcome to McIntosh many years ago—during a season of deep change. I had just become a single mom with a newborn and found myself longing for fresh starts—both for myself and for a fictional small-town library in need of one too. I didn’t have time to write the full story then, but the seed was planted.

Now, it brings me so much joy to share a story that began in a challenging chapter of my life and has grown into something hopeful, cozy, and filled with heart. Welcome to McIntosh is more than a book—it’s a place that feels like home. A town where neighbors look out for each other, where friendships and faith run deep, and where laughter and second chances bloom in the most unexpected places.

I truly believe that life’s simplest moments can be the most meaningful, and I hope you’ll find a little of that magic here, too.

A Bit About Me

I’m an award-winning baker, entertaining expert, and author of Harry Potter: Feasts & Festivities. My work has been featured in Southern Living, Victoria, Martha Stewart Weddings, and Country Sampler. My latest project, Welcome to McIntosh, is a cozy fiction series filled with love, laughter, and the beauty of small-town life. I live in Virginia with my husband, daughter, and our opinionated flock of chickens.
